Utter Bliss Duet with Robert Arleigh White

by Jim Alabiso

[Jim]
I went home that night and thought of it hours
We were taking pictures nose to nose

[Bob]
When midnight came I thought to send you flowers
For enduring a ro-man-tic awk-ward pose….

[Jim]
It started when you pulled out a paint brush
And stroked me up and down [pause] … in shades of blue

[Bob]
My knees got weak, I shook and then my face blushed
It’s not easy being so damn close to you

[Jim]
I’m at a loss to find ourselves some closure
It’s hard to be so near to utter bliss

[Bob]
Those goggles and the speedo and exposure
And we never got to consummate the kiss.

[Jim, agrees]
Yes, we never got to consummate the kiss

[Bob]
It’s hard to be so close to utter bliss

[Together]
We never got to consummate the kiss

[Kiss]
